About the Gilman scholarship
The U.S. Department of State’s Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship is a grant program that enables students of limited financial means to study or intern abroad, thereby gaining skills critical to national security and economic prosperity. While not required, all UNC Charlotte students are encouraged to attend one of the Gilman Scholarship Workshops facilitated by the Office of Education Abroad. During the workshop (each is identical, although one is a live online webinar and one is in-person), OEA staff will cover the Gilman application requirements and tips on how to have a competitive application.
