Briana Casey

Briana is the Associate Director in the Office of Education Abroad at UNC Charlotte, where she works with faculty and campus partners to develop and lead high-impact education abroad programs. Her work centers on faculty engagement, intentional program design, and advancing global and intercultural learning while creating meaningful international experiences that support students’ academic and professional development.

Briana’s professional and scholarly interests include faculty engagement in education abroad, global and intercultural learning, and the design and assessment of student learning outcomes in short-term education abroad programs. She also teaches UCOL 2200: Global Professional Development, a course for students returning from education abroad that helps them connect their international experiences to professional development and career competencies.

Prior to joining UNC Charlotte, Briana worked in international education at Penn State Global and the Penn State College of Engineering. Her international experience spans multiple continents through studying, teaching, and leading education abroad programs.
